“Miss Volga 2015” Day 1

This year, Miss Volga, the 16^th Open Russian Beauty Contest was held in Samara, where 37 participants gathered from different Russian cities. From the moment they arrived the contestants had a very busy schedule. They only had time to change, then the make-up and hairstyle artists were ready to prepare them for the photoshoot, which was then posted on the website for voting. The girls participated in a photoshoot in swimsuits provided by the Defi*le brand, a partner of the contest, and in red and white dresses for the contestants’ official photos, which were provided by the main sponsor of the contest – the international modelling agency Casta Model Management.

On the same day the contestants also filmed their Official Introduction video cards. On the final day, on 7 August, these Introduction video cards will be broadcast. Every girl will talk a little bit about herself, and explain why she is participating in the Miss Volga competition. Make-up and hair for the official photoshoot was done by the make-up company Divage.

At 9 pm there was the presentation – meeting with the contestants. Before coming to the competition, we had asked all the girls to do a home task – a video clip of herself and the city she represented. They were all perfectly prepared; we especially liked the presentations by Dobrovolskaya Yana (Tyumen Region), Anastasia Kalinina (Tomsk region) and Julia Tikhonova (Chuvashia), who brought local candies from Cheboksary.

There was another interesting event that night: Chukavina Eugenia-our participant from Izhevsk, turned 18 during the competition. We all congratulated Eugenia and were pleased that she celebrated her birthday with us at “Miss Volga 2015”.
